It's been a while since something new was put up, but to be fair, I never actually said my posts would be consistent >.<

Nonetheless, I'm back and this post is again, about comics and a Marvel comic at that.

Once again, I will warn you as I did in my last post: considering most Marvel movies are based on interesting and/or significant events in the comic book world and I consider this event to be QUITE significant so this post might contain a spoiler for those who don't read/buy/collect comics. So BEWARE!

If you, at the least, keep up with Marvel announcements, or even watch The Big Bang Theory as religiously as I do, you will have found out that Marvel made the decision to make Thor a female. That's right. Thor, God of Thunder is now Thor, 'GODDESS' of Thunder. They claimed that this was done in an attempt to attract more female readers.

Hmmmm.

Being a female who already reads comics, I thought, whatever my opinions were, they would be irrelevant but since this is my post, I'll share my initial thoughts anyway: I legit completely hated the premise and made the decision to not read/buy the Thor comics after this announcement was made looooooool. A bit overly-dramatic but so what. I was upset.

Now, I do not want to hear some BS anti-feminist spiel about how I'm not supporting my gender and blah blah. My initial hate for the female Thor plot wasn't anti-feminist at all. I simply don't like change in the least. Thor, has been (and in my opinion) should always be, a man, because according to the legend that it's based on, Thor is Odin's "son". Well, I should say, previous opinion. I've since changed my mind. But before I say why, let me also state that another reason I really didn't like the idea was the fact that I was unsure of how they would incorporate this change.

I will admit that, idiotically, when I heard the announcement, I automatically assumed that they would just change Thor into a 'she', just like that, with no explanation. I've already acknowledged that it was stupid of me to think it would go down that way, but I'd like to think that it was just my emotions getting the better of me. I finally decided that I'd give in and find out just exactly what was going on.

They actually pulled it off. That's why I changed my mind. They ACTUALLY pulled it off, at least in my opinion.

I have to say, I'm actually enjoying this story-line with female Thor. And the reveal as to who was under that mask...I should've seen it coming!!!! But honestly, any logical person wouldn't...which is why I should've! Oh well. Goddess approved (not that they were asking for my approval but :P) Maybe another reason I've accepted it is because Thor Odinson didn't have to die for this change to come about, and it's not like he's mortal either! He is still a powerful Asgardian and is still Odin's son; he just has to go by a different name for the time being and let's say is having a bit of a spat with Mjolnir >.<

Oh, I almost forgot! The woman under the mask...Let's just say she's well acquainted with Thor ;) I wont tell you guys just yet.

Adios!
