To all those who read my blog only for the comic section, I reach out for you to take a chance and try out anime/manga.

Orrrr, if you've been wanting to try out anime/manga and just don't know where to start, here are my top 10 recommendations for the Anime Novice:

1) Dragonball Franchise

2) Naruto

3) Yu-Gi-Oh!

4) Fairy Tail

5) Bleach

6) Tokyo Ghoul

7) Death Note

8) Code Geass

9) Attack on Titan

10) Fullmetal Alchemist

The order is based on nothing particular, other than the top three, in which the first two are ongoing (in manga at least), and all three I grew up with and it is to them which I attribute my initial love for the anime worold. I must say that they have built most of my foundation for being an Otaku and so basically, have made me who I so proudly am.

The others, such as Bleach and Fairy Tail, I picked up along the road and binged watched, but to this day will never regret it and I don't think you will either. Each and every one of these have their ups and downs, and honestly the only downside I ever got from them was the loss of characters I grew attached to. They can get real intense at times, but also have a good share of lighthearted moments. And in every single one of these, you will learn something you can take with you to the grave.

Most of these series taught me the importance of friends, even if it's only a few. And for those who don't really have any friends because you simply don't like people, its fine because after spending so much time with them, the characters sort of become your friends (in spirit anyway).

I have laughed, cried and rejoiced with these characters throughout the entirety of each of their series. As weird as it may seem to some, I have bonded with so many of the characters in these fictional worlds more than I could with some people in reality. I have learned so much from people who don't exist. That's where the power of anime lies- in the fact that there is something there for everyone.

You might not find exactly what you're looking for in this list, but there is something out there that was probably made specifically for a person like you. You just have to find it.

And just as a bonus, you will also join the community of like-minded anime-loving otakus. We might be a bit quirky, we might be quiet and like me, 'selectively social', but when it comes to anime, we're as loud and crazy as Natsu (Fairy Tail) and Naruto (and maybe a bit obsessive).

Come and join the fun. I doubt you'll regret it.
